The 2023 World of Coffee (WOC) event took place from June 22nd to 24th in Athens and taf was there to host amazing events and presentations, while serving exceptional coffees!
Located at Hall 3, taf’s stand was the go-to hotspot for many coffee lovers and professionals from all around the world! At stand 3-B10, guests had the opportunity to taste amazing taf coffees, unique new additions and be part of many presentations and surprise events.
Many stopped by to taste a cup from the refined selection of taf coffees that was served.
From the Single Estate series, taf offered:
Rodolfo Jardin de Aromas – Costa Rica
Sumava de Lourdes – Costa Rica
Divino Nino Carbonic – Costa Rica
Fazenda Samambaia / Catigua – Brazil
From the Taloumis Family Limited Reserve series:
La Palma y El Tucan Geisha Heroes – Colombia
And for the first time, the new Gesha Lot #22331 from Volcan Valley Coffees Panama, which was served both at the taf stand and the Brew Bar of the WBrC, as part of taf’s continuous support of the World Brewers Cup Championship over the years.
One of the newest additions of the Taloumis Limited Reserve series, Casa Bras COE Brazil 2022, a rare geisha from Brazil, was offered in multiple booths, such as the Toddy and the Modbar stands. Taf coffees were also served at the Eversys stand, the Weber Workshops stand using the Meticulous Espresso Machine, the Poursteady stand and of course at the Fazenda Daterra takeover of the Experience Bar!
Additionally, during the three days of WOC, taf had the opportunity to host Joseph Brodsky from Ninentyplus Coffees for a memorable coffee pairing ceremony, Francisco Mena from Exclusive Coffees with two cupping sessions of Costa Rica’s top 10 finalists, Yanina Ferreyra from Project Origin and last but not least, Oscar Woolley from Suki Tea.
We were also, particularly proud to organize and be part of many wonderful events around the center of Athens, including a pop-up event at Diego Athens that lasted three days and each day featured a different roaster, MAME Coffee on June 19th, Monogram on June 20th and M2M Coffee on June 21st, and The 2023 Greek Comandante Championship of Comandante Grinders, which was hosted at Cultivos Coffee Skoufa, in partnership with Nucleus Coffee Tools, on June 21st. Τhe Championship’s judge team included Jessika Heredia Sosa, Sasa Sestic and taf’s Giannis Giannakopoulos, while 24 coffee professionals competed for the title of the Greek Comandante Champion.
At the taf coffee shop, we had the pleasure to host two separate presentations with Ben Put on June 19th, and Sasa Sestic with the Ona Coffee team on June 20th, both sharing their innovative coffee techniques and expertness.
Finally, a great highlight of the WOC experience was a very special dinner hosted at the Taf Roastery on June 21st, with all of our coffee producers friends and partners from the Taf Direct Relationship program, as well as The 360o Party by taf, that took place on the first day of WOC Athens on June 22nd, at the rooftop of Selina Theatrou & Cowork, where many coffee aficionados gathered together to celebrate and have fun.
We’re looking forward to see everyone again next year, at World of Coffee Copenhagen!
