This year, Taf Coffee Shop celebrates 15 years of operation and 15 years of a course that shaped and established the new coffee culture in Greece. Fifteen years ago, in a Greece where the coffee scene was very different from today, taf was the first to launch a new philosophy and set the basis for the introduction of high quality coffee into everyone’s daily routines, without discrimination or restrictions.

In 2009, the flagship store Taf Coffee Shop opened its doors for the first time in the center of Athens, at Benaki 7, starting as an idea that aimed to bring a new perspective to the way traditional coffee shops operated, and to give “specialty” coffee a more meaningful place in people’s consciousness. The inspiration for the idea came by Yannis Taloumis, who together with the taf team, developed a human-centric concept, as high quality coffee is the product of a chain of people who create it with passion and respect. A chain that spans from the coffee farms, in the most remote parts of the world, where local producers create the raw material with dedication, to the taf Roastery, where the skillful hands of the Head Roaster Ilias Taloumis extract all the unique taste and aromatic characteristics of coffee, and finally, to the specialized team of taf Baristas, who through their expertise, innovative techniques, and state-of-the-art equipment, prepare the final result that the customer receives in his cup. All these factors create the concept of Taf Coffee Shop.
