Taf participated this year as well to the online auction of Hacienda La Esmeralda Special that took place on the 15th of May 2012 (http://auction.stoneworks.com/ES2012/final_results.html) and placed the higher bid for the lot Leon (ES-05). This specific lot is grown in the region Canas Verdes at an altitude of 1700m and Taf is expecting it with impatience!
I had the opportunity to visit the farm Hacienda La Esmeralda during my trip to Panama in April 2012. The farm is really impressive with a rich tropical vegetation and an ecosystem that is protected.
Besides the farm is certified from the Rainforest Alliance Organization.
The tall and elegant geisha trees (that are characterized by their special shape of their leaves) are scattered in the rich tropical forest.
Maybe this is one of the reasons – apart from the special microclimate of the farm – why the geisha coffee from the farm Hacienda La Esmeralda is so unique. The lot Leon will be included in the Taf Specialty Project and more specifically in the Taloumis Family Limited Reserve Line.
